I am currently a Professor of Competition Law & Economics at Tilburg Law School and a faculty member of the Tilburg Law & Economic Center where my research focuses on EU competition law, the regulation of network industries and intellectual property (with a focus on its relationship with EU competition law). I am also a visiting Professor at University College London and a Senior Fellow in the Melbourne Law Masters.
Prior to holding these positions, I held numerous visiting Professorships in academic institutions in Europe, the United States, and Asia, including the College of Europe in Bruges, Columbia Law School, Harvard Law School, the University of Michigan Law School, UCLA School of Law, as well Yale University and Peking University.
I am the author/co-author/editor of more than 20 books and the author/co-author of over 100 book chapters and law review articles. My papers can be downloaded from my author’s page on SSRN. I am the co-editor-in-chief of the Journal of Competition Law & Economics (Oxford University Press). My work has been cited by the US Supreme Court, US Court of Appeals, the EU courts in Luxembourg, as well as by multiple regulatory agencies.
I hold a degree in law from the University of Liège (1989), a LL.M. from King’s College London (1990), and a PhD from Cambridge University (1995). I was a Fulbright Scholar at Yale Law School (1997).
